What the Society aims to do

We meet on the second Monday* of every month from October to May, usually at Loose Infant School Hall, Loose Road, Maidstone, at 7.30 pm to hear talks by well-informed speakers on local, social and family history subjects.

Admission: members £2, visitors £2.50. (* Subject to change if a Bank Holiday)

•In June and July we visit nearby places of interest for guided tours.

•We maintain an archive of documents and photographs for the benefit of members and bona-fide researchers.

•Our Research Group meets several times a year to study manuscripts, inventories and wills; to discuss and conduct research projects; and to plan and prepare exhibitions.

•We publish a local history journal, Loose Threads, featuring aspects of the history of Loose and neighbouring parishes and we are co- publishers of Loose and Linton: a Pictorial History.
